The Jayco Australian Opals have departed Australia headed for the United States where they will resume preparations for their World title defence later this month.
After a successful Melbourne camp two weeks ago, the squad of Opals and staff flew out from Sydney this morning headed for Los Angeles. From there theyll connect to New York and then Hartford where they will begin preparations for the first group of practise matches against the US and Spain in the next week

Basketball ACT CEO Mark Cartwright today announced that Jessica Bibby (169-G-79) will be the new Captain of the Canberra TransACT Capitals for the 2010/2011 WNBL Season.

Team USA currently trains in Washington DC. As the WNBA playoffs wind down, more and more players can be added to the team.
Moving up to Hartford, CT, the US squad will train at the XL Center on September 9th before taking on defending world champion Australia in an exhibition game on September 10th. Team USA of Coach Geno Auriemma will still practice at the XL Center on September 11th
