NBL: Summary of Round 4 - Oct 17, 2009 (by Eurobasket News) Perth - 36ers 110-80 The Perth Wildcats trashed the Adelaide 36ers today 110-80 improving to 3-2 record in NBL. The hosts had couple of players in a game mood, with Stephen Weigh (198-G/F-87) leading the way with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Shawn Redhage (203-F-81, agency: Warren Sports International, college: Arizona St.) had 15 and Luke Schenscher scored 13 pts. In 36ers (2-2), Darren Ng delivered 16 points.
Hawks - Breakers 76-65 Tywain McKee (188-G-86, agency: Liman Sports, college: Coppin St.) was a key player for the Hawks today collecting 23 points. Cameron Tragardh (209-C/F-83, college: ORU) followed him with 19, while Larry Davidson added 13 pts and 10 boards. In the loosing squad, CJ Bruton netted 18. Hawks 3-1, Breakers 2-3.
Blaze - Tigers 98-86 The Gold Coast Blaze celebrated in Round 4 opener. Today at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Erron Maxey (198-F-78, college: Providence) and his teammates were too strong for the Tigers registering 98-86 win. It means that the hosts jumped up from the bottom to 2-3 record. The team from Melbourne is now the last ranked in NBL standings with 1-3. Maxey was totally the best player in this victory as he collected 29 points and 7 rebounds. Chris Goulding scored 17 and James Harvey delivered 2 points less. On the other side, Mark Worthington shined with 31 points and 9 rebounds. Daryl Corletto had 17 and Daniel Johnson contributed with 12 points, plus 9 rebounds.
Crocodiles - Blaze 101-91 The Crocs celebrated against the Blaze improving to 3-2 record in NBL. On the other side, the team of Trevor Gleeson fell to 2-4. Corey Williams (191-G-77, college: Alabama St.) 'Homicide' was totally the best player in this victory. He spent 32 minutes on the court draining impressive 37 points and grabbing 7 boards. He had 13/18 for FG2 and 11/14 FTs. Peter Crawford (193-G-79) and Brad Williamson followed him with 15 pts each, while Stephen Hoare netted 4 less. In GCB, Ayinde Ubaka shined with 21 points. James Harvey was second scorer of the team with 15.
Tigers - Perth 78-84
Kevin Lisch (188-G, agency: Warren Sports International, college: St.Louis) and Shawn Redhage stepped up for the winners with 17 points each. With this victory, the Wildcats once again jumped on top of the NBL standings with 16-11 score. The hosts got 24 points and 7 boards from Julius Hodge (201-G-83, college: N.Carolina St.), falling to 11-15.

This time Penney scored 23 points, while CJ Bruton (188-G-75, agency: Gross Zeev ISA, college: Indian Hills CC) followed him with 4 pts less. In Wollongong Hawks (14-12), Cameron Tragardh (209-C/F-83, college: ORU) and Tim Coenraad had 12 pts each.
Blaze - Perth 86-73 Adam Gibson (188-G-86) shined with 23 points and 8 assists leading his GCB to victory in derby game against the Wildcats. Erron Maxey (198-F-78, college: Providence) also had very important role adding 19 points and 12 rebounds. Adam Gibson (188-G-86) of the Gold Coast Blaze has snared his first Player of the Week award with an outstanding effort in Round 18 against the red hot Melbourne Tigers on Saturday night.
Gibsons performance came at a crucial time for the Blaze, who are currently vying for the minor premiership.

Adam Gibson (188-G-86) of the Gold Coast Blaze has snared his first Player of the Week award with an outstanding effort in Round 18 against the red hot Melbourne Tigers on Saturday night.
Gibsons performance came at a crucial time for the Blaze, who are currently vying for the minor premiership.
With starting import guard Ayinde Ubaka out injured, the Blaze asked Gibbo to step up as on-court leader as they faced the surging Tigers. He responded magnificently with a near triple-double performance while guiding the Blaze to a critical 99-91 win in overtime at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
With the World Championships in his sights, Gibbo gave the Boomers selectors something to think about as he took apart the Tigers in scorching fashion. Gibson finished with 15 points, six rebounds and 12 assists in 41 minutes of game time. His all round effort was capped off with one steal and one block. Gibson shot 6-of-17 from the field and did not miss from the foul line hitting two from two.
Gibsons first weekly honour could not have come at a better time for the Blaze, who are looking to finish in the top two and guarantee themselves home court advantage in the NBL Semi Finals.
New Zealand Breakers star Kirk Penney will have to be disappointed at not receiving the award for the second week running after a dominant display at The Swamp on Wednesday night. Penney finished with 22 points and nine rebounds on 7-of-16 shooting which included 4-of-8 three pointers.
Melbournes Julius Hodge also had an outstanding week statistically, averaging 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists across two games, a win over Adelaide and a loss to Gold Coast.
