Dandenong Rangers extend deal with Canadian center Krista Phillips - Jun 1, 2012

Dandenong Rangers announced another important signing. After WNBL Grand Final MVP Kathleen Macleod (167-G-86), the team also extended deal with Krista Phillips (198-C-88, college: Michigan). The Canadian center had 11 ppg, 7.4 rpg and 1.5 apg for the club in 21 games. She helped Dandenong to win the WNBL title. Krista Phillips arrived to Dandenong a year ago from Spain. She split 2010/11 season between Italian Umbertide and Spanish Burgos. For 18 games with Burgos she had 7.4 ppg and 6.3 rpg. Phillips graduated at the University of Michigan in 2010. They reached NIT Final Four that season. Krista Phillips is active member of the Canadian National Team since 2010. She helped them to win the Bronze at 2011 FIBA Americas in Neiva. For 6 games at this even the center had 6.8 ppg and 4 rpg.

An interesting game for Dandenong Rangers (9-3) which played road game in Bendigo against second-best Bendigo Spirit (8-5). First ranked Dandenong Rangers managed to get a 8-point victory 77-69. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-69. Kalisha Keane (ex TED Ankara) is a newcomer at Melbourne - 5 days ago

Melbourne Boomers (WNBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old Canadian forward Kalisha Keane (185-89, college: Michigan State). She played most recently at TED Ankara in Turkish TKBL. In 21 games she recorded very impressive stats: 16.1ppg, 7.6rpg, 2.6apg and 2.4spg last season.
