Melbourne Tigers (NBL) signed 23-year old American guard Jonny Flynn (183-88kg-89, college: Syracuse). He already started the season at Detroit Pistons in the NBA. The most of last season Flynn spent at the Trail Blazers in NBA. In 18 games last year he had 5.2ppg, 1.7rpg and 3.8apg. He also played at the Rockets in NBA earlier that season. In 11 games he recorded 3.4ppg and 2.5apg. The most of last season Flynn spent at the Timberwolves in NBA. The other team he played shortly was Sioux Falls Skyforce in D-League.
Three years ago Flynn was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) in first round (6th overall). He attended Syracuse University until 2009 and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball.
Flynn played in the final of Big East Tournament in 2009.
He was also voted NBA All-Rookie 2nd Team in 10. Flynn represented USA at the World Championships U19 in Novi Sad (Serbia) five years ago. His team won Silver and his stats at that event were 9 games: 9.6ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.8apg, 2.4spg, 2FGP: 52.2%, 3FGP: 35%, FT: 77.3%.
