Aron Baynes
San Antonio Spurs (NBA) is about to sign 27-year old Australian ex-international center Aron Baynes (208-86, college: Washington State) who currently plays Union Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia. He is a dual citizen owning also New Zealand passport. In 10 Euroleague games this season he had 13.8ppg and 9.8rpg. He also played 16 games in Adriatic League where he recorded 12.4ppg and 6.8rpg. The last season Baynes played at Ikaros in Greek A1. In 23 games last year he recorded 13.6ppg and 8.7rpg. A very impressive season as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 League Center of the Year and named to 1st Team.
The previous (10-11) season he played at EWE Baskets in German BBL. In 40 games that season he recorded 6.8ppg and 3.7rpg. Baynes also played 5 games in Eurocup where he recorded 13.4ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.2spg.
He has never been drafted by the NBA.
Baynes won Lithuanian League championship title in 2010.
He was also a member of Australian international program for some years. Baynes played for Australian Senior National Team between 2009 and 2012 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2004. He also represented Australia at the Olympic Games in London (United Kingdon) last year. His stats at that event were 6 games: 7.5ppg, 3.3rpg, FGP: 65.6%.
Baynes has played previously professionally in Lithuania (Lietuvos rytas) and Australia (Australian Institute Sport).
He attended Washington State until 2009 and it will be his fourth season as a professional player.

Balletti Park Hotel Viterbo (Serie C Gold) added to their roster 24-year old Australian center Jack Ocwieja (211-93, college: Grambling State). He played last summer at Sunshine Coast Rip in Australian QBL. In 13 games he had 4.2ppg and 3.2rpg in 2016 season. Ocwieja has played also professionally for other Australian teams like Tigers and McKinnon Cougars. He attended Grambling State until 2016 and it will be his second season as a professional player. American Forward Desmond Simmons (198-F-92) had a very impressive game in the last round for Waverley F., receiving a Australiabasket.com State League Player of the Week award for round 20. The 25-year old player had a double-double of 38 points and 18 rebounds, while his team outclassed Hume City (#10, 5-14) with 38-point margin 107-69. Big V McKinnon C. - Whittlesea City 111-91 Very expected game when 12th ranked Whittlesea City (1-18) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked McKinnon C. (10-9) 111-91 on Sunday.
