Rhys Carter
The Perth Wildcats have signed Australian guard Rhys Carter (190-PG-84) to help fill the hole left by Brad Robbins, who retired from the game in December.

The 28-year-old trained with the team today after leaving Europe where he had been playing for Uppsala Basket in the Swedish Basketball League.

Wildcats head coach Rob Beveridge says Carter will be a valuable addition to his side.

'He played for me in the National Junior team that won the World Championship, and he played with me at West Sydney so he fits into our style of game,' he said.

'He's a good shooter of the ball, he is quite athletic, but he's now a veteran, he's won a Championship with the Dragons, he's a seasoned campaigner, he's going to definitely fit in, he's a combo one-two man, so that's what I like, he's a combo guard, not a pure point guard and not a pure two guard.'

The Victorian joined the South Dragons in 2008 where he became a championship player in his first season.

He then played for Gothia Basket in Sweden where he played 40 games, averaging more than 16 points.

In 2010 Carter returned to the NBL to play for the Adelaide 36ers, where he played 22 games before returning to Sweden to join Uppsala Basket.

No 2016 Olympics for rehabbing Jazz guard Dante Exum - 5 days ago

Utah Jazz fans can relax. Dante Exum(198-PG-95) won't be injured playing for his national team again this offseason. Exum and the Utah Jazz announced Saturday night that the 20-year-old point guard will not play for his Australian team this summer as he continues a successful rehab from the knee injury he suffered with the Boomers in a friendly last summer. Unfortunately for the Aussies and Exum, that means the 6-foot-6 playmaker will not be participating in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Ri...   [read more]
