Its part two and now we play the Knox Raiders!!!! The Knox Raiders have played us twice and they beaten us at home and on the road. It was time to make a statement for a lot of reasons. First of all, it will be the first time that I have won a championship overseas in my career of playing basketball. Secondly, our coach, Ben Harvey , will be the first coach/player to win a championship in the SEABL. Thirdly, for the veteran, Ricky J. Daniels (198-F-72, college: N[read more]

First of all, it will be the first time that I have won a championship overseas in my career of playing basketball. Secondly, our coach, Ben Harvey , will be the first coach/player to win a championship in the SEABL. Thirdly, for the veteran, Ricky J. Daniels (198-F-72, college: N.Carolina St.), who has played in two home finals and lost. This will be another chance to win a home final and possibly retire from playing basketball. Lastly, it will be great to win it in front of our fans, which are the best in Australia. In the recent games against Knox, I had 18 points and 13 rebounds at Knox and 31 points and 18 rebounds at home against Knox, which we lost in overtime. I know that I needed to have another great game and the supporting cast had to step up. The whole week we worked on strengths in practice, which were the imports and we also worked on our strengths and plays in practice too. All week the tickets were selling like crazy and the fans were coming up to me and my teammates saying 'Good Luck' and 'Beat Knox'. The whole week I was nervous and I had butterflies in my stomach. As the week was getting to the Saturday night game, I can sense something special happening that night. The members and the staff have been decorating the gym and the concourse making it nice. They made posters and did a projection screen with all of our highlights on it. As Saturday morning approached, I woke up and drove to the stadium early to work on my shots that I was going get in the game. I also worked on my post moves and my other strengths for the game. Afterwards, I got some lunch and took a nap and really rested my body. Before the game, I had mixed feelings all day. First, the feeling if we lose then I would be heading home early to see my wife Angela and my little boy, Ivan II. Just the feeling of holding and kissing my wife of three years will be great!!!!! I love my wife and kid so much. Secondly, the feeling of the East mens championship and winning the home grand final on our home court. My mind was going crazy until the game. We knew Knox was back to back champions in the east and we didnt want that to happen on our court. All the special moments before the game, the motorcycle entrance, the spotlights, confetti and posters with my name on it made it great. Everything was just so awesome and I couldn't wait for the game to begin. Stay tuned for the next blog! The Championship Game!!!!!
Welcome again Eurobasket.com!!!!!! I have been busy and now it is time to get back to the blogging. The last time that I had posted a blog was a few months ago. The team, Bendigo Braves, was second in the ladder with an 18-9 record. We were one game out of first place to the Kilsyth Cobras. Now it is time for the playoffs and we are hungry for a win. The first game is against the Cobras on the road for a chance to play a home grand final and a chance for us to rest our bodies with the week off. It is going to be a huge game for us and we really want to win this game so we can prove to the league that we are the best. I have been playing great in the last several games and it is time to step up for the big games. I want to win this game and play in the home final. The game has finally arrived and I have been feeling a little nervous all week for this game. This game was going to be a defensive game in order for us to win. There were so many great plays throughout the whole game. It was great defense by both teams and it came down to a great defensive play by Luke Meyer (196-G/F-85, college: St.Louis) and Adam Tanner (206-C-84, college: Seward County CC) to make Kilsyth Cobras miss the game tying shot to go into overtime. The whole team was so excited and was losing my mind when the final buzzer went off. I had a great game with 16 points and 17 rebounds!!! The final score was 57 to 55 and we were waiting for the final team to play in two weeks. The teams that were left were Kilsyth Cobras, Knox Raiders, or Brisbane Spartans and we will be waiting for them!!! Part 2 will be next!!!
I have been hoping for a season like this for so long and it is going exactly like I thought it would be. Our team, the Bendigo Braves, are 12-4, first in the SEABL, and we are clicking on all cylinders. Our goal is not quite finished yet, but at the end of the season we hope to win the Grand Finale and celebrate. Im so proud of my health, family, teammates, the team and just being alive to experience this. I cant wait to see my wife Angela and my son Ivan II[read more]
I have been hoping for a season like this for so long and it is going exactly like I thought it would be. I cant wait to see my wife Angela and my son Ivan II. I get to see them on SKYPE almost every day and my little man is getting bigger each time I see him. Im glad to be surrounded by the great people and the great city of Bendigo. The people here have been awesome and they are really supportive to the team and especially the imports. My roomy, Luke, has been great and makes it fun to play each game and make the city of Bendigo proud. His fiance, well wife to be in a few months, name Jill is coming for three weeks to see him. It is going to be great for him and it is so hard when you dont see a loved one or family member for a while. So welcome Jill to Bendigo and hope you have a great time here and enjoy yourself!!!! As for my wife, Angela, my boo boo, and Ivan, my big man, I will be home soon okay!! I miss you so much!! Also while being here I have a great group of teammates that makes it so comfortable being one of the guys. Some of the guys are silly and crazy, while some make me laugh every time I see them. Im glad to have great players on the team. I also have a great coach in Ben Harvey who has been great and Im so glad he is the coach. His knowledge of the game and his passion for the game is unreal!! The assistant coaches: Martin Spottiswood, Sam Fotu, and Jeremi Moule are awesome as well. They all have different pieces of their basketball knowledge and they teach it to us very well. The staff at the stadium really has been a big for me since I been here. They are free to talk to and very nice. They make you feel good to come to the stadium. There are so many people on the office staff that I can put down all the names, but they know who they are!! Thanks!! As for myself, Im doing great right now and Im in the best health of my life and fitting in well in Bendigo. Im doing my best to give our team a great chance of winning it all. We have a lot of home games coming up and it is a MUST that we win because home court gives us a good advantage. We have to capitalize and play our A- game. To all my homies that played ball overseas and finished to go home, congrats on another successful year playing ball. Keep working hard at home and enjoy the summer back home!! My season is still going in Australia so pray for me as I continue to grind it out!!! What up to my agent Carl Reed, of Carl Reed Management for continuing to work for me and his other clients. Thanks man.
