Greg
Whittington
American Greg Whittington (203-F-93) put on an amazing game in the last round for Kings and that's him to receive a Australiabasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 23-year old forward had the game-high 16 points adding eight rebounds and seven assists for Kings in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Breakers (#6, 12-14) with 27-point margin 84-57. Kings is placed at 3rd position in Australian NBL. Kings is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-13 record. In the team's last game Whittington had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Rutgers, The State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Whittington is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 6.5rpg) and averages solid 52.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old American point guard Travis Trice (183-PG-93) of Taipans. Trice impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Taipans to another comfortable win 97-83 over the lower-ranked Bullets (#8, 10-16) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Taipans to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 12-12 record is not bad and everything may still change. Trice is a newcomer at Taipans and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Torrey Craig (198-F-90) of Bullets (#8). Craig scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Craig's great performance Bullets lost 83-97 to the higher-ranked Taipans (#5, 12-12). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Bullets not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 16 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Craig could try to bring Bullets' a little bit higher in the standings. Craig has individually a great season in Australia. After 26 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.9rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Akil Mitchell (206-F-92) of Breakers - 13 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Torrey Craig (198-F-90) of Bullets - 18 points and 6 rebounds
6. Daniel Johnson (210-C/F-88) of 36ers - 22 points and 5 rebounds
7. Cameron Gliddon (196-G/F-89) of Taipans - 26 points and 3 rebounds
8. Rotnei Clarke (183-PG-89) of Hawks - 25 points and 2 assists
9. Alexander Loughton (206-F/C-83) of Taipans - 21 points and 4 rebounds
10. Jeremy Kendle (186-G-88) of Bullets - 24 points

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
