Ray Turner
Willetton Tigers (SBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old American forward Ray Turner (206-104kg-90, college: Texas A&M). He played most recently at Falco KC Szombathely in Hungarian A Division, but left. In 11 games he recorded 9.4ppg and 5.2rpg this season. The last summer Turner played at Rockhampton Rockets (QBL) where in 11 games he averaged impressive 22.5ppg, 12.3rpg, 1.3spg and 1.7bpg.
Three years ago (a year after he left the college) Turner was drafted by Los Angeles D-Fenders (D-League) in third round (53rd overall).
He attended Texas A&M University until 2013 and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball.
Turner won Australian QBL championship title in 2014.
He represented USA at the District Championship- 09 eight years ago.
Thanks to Turner's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia and of course North America). Turner has played previously professionally in Cyprus (Apollon), Japan (Akita Happinets) and Australia (Redbacks).
The scouts decsribe him following way: Very athletic (PF) with the ability to score on the block or from mid-range. Runs the floor like a deer and has NBA potential. was also recruited by Oklahoma State, Memphis, Missouri, Marquette, Baylor, Nebraska and New Mexico. Wore #35 for his good friend and 2010 Aggie signee Tobi Oyedeji who was killed in a Houston car accident in May 2010.
