Hawks - Wildcats 77-89

Perth stepped closer to NBL title. They upset the Hawks on the road for 2-0 lead in the best-of-five championship series. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 49-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Perth Wildcats outrebounded Illawarra Hawks 41-30 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. American swingman Casey Prather (198-91, college: Florida) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Four Perth Wildcats players scored in double figures. The former international center Andrew-James Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and American point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

ANDREW BOGUT Sydney Kings (NBL) agreed terms with 33-year old Australian ex-international center Andrew Bogut (213-118kg-84, college: Utah). He played recently at played at LA Lakers in the NBA, but was released by the team in January. But in 23 games he had just 1.6ppg and 3.4rpg this season. NICK KAY Perth Wildcats (NBL) inked 25-year old international power forward Nick Kay (206-104kg-92, college: Metropolitan State of Denver). He started the season at played at Hawks.
