American Forward Jalen Billups (198-F-92, agency: Haylett Sports) had a great game in the last round for Cockburn C., receiving a Australiabasket.com State League Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 39 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Willetton T. (1-1) 89-81. Cockburn C. is placed at 5th position in their group in Australian State League. Cockburn C. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Billups had a remarkable 68.2% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Cockburn C. and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Former Northern Kentucky University star has very solid stats this year. Billups is league's best scorer averaging so far 32.5ppg and leads league in rebounds with 14.0rpg. Billups is in league's top in and averages impressive 63.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was -year old Nic Pozoglou of Bankstown B.. Pozoglou had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 22 rebounds. It was enough for Bankstown B. to edge slightly lower-ranked Manly Warr. (#5, 3-3) 71-66. This victory allowed Bankstown B. to move up to 4th position in Waratah. His team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Pozoglou is a newcomer at Bankstown B., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Maurice Barrow (196-F-92) of league's top team Geraldton B.. Barrow scored 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Geraldton B., leading his team to a 92-69 easy win against #4 ranked East Perth E. in a game of the week. Geraldton B. started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game in SBL. Barrow turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. The season just started for Barrow as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dwayne Benjamin (201-F-93) of Geraldton B. - 32 points and 3 assists
5. Brian Carlwell (211-C-87) of Perry Lakes H. - 17 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Taylor Mullenax (200-F-86) of Mandurah M. - 34 points and 4 rebounds
7. Jay Bowie (196-G/F-92) of Willetton T. - 32 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Rhys Vague (204-F-96) of Stirling S. - 24 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Chris Cameron (210-F/C-82) of Eltham W. - 24 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
10. James Padgett (203-F-91) of Lakeside L. - 22 points and 17 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
