Dwayne
Benjamin
23-year old forward Dwayne Benjamin (201-F-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Geraldton B. and receives a Australiabasket.com State League Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had a double-double of 42 points and 16 rebounds, while his team edged out Perth R. (#4, 8-3) 117-113. Geraldton B. is placed at 2nd position in their group in Australian State League. They are still close to the very top. Geraldton B. would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 9-2 record. In the team's last game Benjamin had a remarkable 65.2% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Geraldton B., being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Oregon graduate has very impressive stats this year. Benjamin is in league's top in points (8th best: 24.4ppg) and averages solid 1.1bpg,2.2spg and 56.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Torrey Craig (198-F-90) of Gold Coast R.. He is American forward in his first season at Gold Coast R.. In the last game Craig recorded impressive double-double of 42 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Gold Coast R. to edge SW Metro P. (#14, 0-3) by 3 points 95-92. This victory allowed Gold Coast R. to move up to 6th position in QBL. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Craig is one of the most experienced players at Gold Coast R. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Shawn Redhage (203-F-81) of Perth R. (#4). Redhage got into 30-points club by scoring 40 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds and five assists. Despite Redhage's great performance Perth R. lost 113-117 to #2 ranked Geraldton B.. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Perth R. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in SBL. Their record is 8 victories and 3 lost games. Redhage has a great season in Australia. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 30.4ppg (best scorer). He also has 1.3bpg and FGP: 58.8%. Shawn Redhage has also Australian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tyler Monroe (201-F) of Maitland M. - 33 points and 16 rebounds
5. James Mitchell (195-G/F-91) of Rockhampton - 34 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Shaun Bruce (190-G-91) of Mackay M. - 22 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists
7. Aaron Anderson (178-PG) of Brisbane C. - 33 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists

10. Ray Turner (206-F-90) of Willetton T. - 33 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
