Rebecca
Allen
Union Lyon Basket Feminin (LFB) added to their roster 25-year old Australian international guard Rebecca Allen (185-92, agency: LBM Management). She plays this summer at New York Liberty (WNBA). In four games she recorded just 2.0ppg and 3.8rpg. The last season Allen played at Good Angels in Slovakian league where in 12 Eurocup games she was fifth best scorer with 11.5ppg and had 5.2rpg, 1.4apg, 1.4spg (in top 3) and 1.6bpg. She also played 21 games in Slovakian Extraliga where she averaged 13.3ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.3apg, 2.3spg and 1.1bpg. Allen helped them to win the league title (twice) and they also made it to the Cup final (twice). A very spectacular season in her career as she was voted to Eurobasket.com Slovakian Extraliga All-Imports Team and 2nd Team.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others she was voted Australiabasket.com All-Australian WNBL Defensive Player of the Year back in 2014.
Allen has been also a member of Australian international program for some years. She has regularly played for Australian senior team since 2014 and previously for U19 National Team between 2009 and 2011.
Allen also represented Australia at the World Championships for Women in Turkey three years ago. Her team won Bronze and her stats at that event were 6 games: 4.3ppg, 1.5rpg.
Thanks to Allen's pro career she managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Australia and of course North America). Allen has played previously professionally in Boomers, Dandenong Rangers, Australian Institute of Sport, Knox Raiders and SEQ.
The scouts decsribe her following way: A big-bodied guard with amazing physical tools and great defensive skills. She's very effective in guard both forwards and guards.

Union Lyon Basket Feminin roster for 2017-2018:

We bring you last week's top performances from Australians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international center Marianna Tolo (196-89, agency: ProDep Management). She could not help Abdullah Gul (0-1) in their last game. Despite Tolo's very good performance the third-placed Abdullah Gul (0-1) was edged 76-74 on the road by the leading Istanbul Uni in the group E of Eurocup.    [read more]
