Hurst
Canberra Capitals (WNBL) signed experienced 34-year old Australian point guard Natalie Hurst (164-83). It is actually her comeback to Canberra Capitals as she has played here before. Hurst played last season at Hatay Bsb in Turkish KBSL. In four Eurocup games she had 13.8ppg, 5.3rpg and 4.3apg. She also played 22 games in KBSL where she recorded 11.9ppg, 4.2rpg and 4.3apg. Hurst helped them to win the Supercup.
The previous (2016) summer she played at Rollers (QBL). In 8 games she averaged impressive 16.1ppg, 4.6rpg, 6.1apg and 1.4spg in 2016 season. Hurst contributed to her team making it to the semifinals.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others she was voted Eurobasket.com All-Turkish KBSL 1st Team in 2016.
Hurst was also a member of Australian international program for some years. She played for Australian Senior National Team between 2009 and 2014 and previously for University National Team in 2007.
Hurst also represented Australia at the Oceania Championships eight years ago. Her team won Gold and her stats at that event were 2 games: 5.5ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.5bpg, 2FGP: 18.2%, 3PT: 28.6%, FT: 50.0%.
Hurst is quite experienced player. She has played in four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Australia and of course North America). Hurst has played previously professionally in France, Hungary (PEAC Pecs) and Australia (Clippers).

Abby Bishop claims Australian WNBL weekly honour - 1 day ago
International Center Abby Bishop (189-C-88) put on an amazing game in the last round for Adelaide and that's her to receive a Australiabasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2. The 29-year old center had a double-double of 35 points and ten rebounds, while her team beat Perth (#8, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 89-81. Adelaide maintains the 3rd position in Australian WNBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Adelaide wil...   [read more]

We bring you last week's top performances from Australians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international center Marianna Tolo (196-89, agency: ProDep Management). She could not help Abdullah Gul (0-1) in their last game. Despite Tolo's very good performance the third-placed Abdullah Gul (0-1) was edged 76-74 on the road by the leading Istanbul Uni in the group E of Eurocup.    [read more]
