Casper Ware
27-year old point guard Casper Ware (178-PG-90) had a very impressive game in the last round for United and receives a Australiabasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had the game-high 26 points adding five rebounds and three assists for United in his team's victory, helping them to crush Taipans (#5, 3-5) with 22-point margin 87-65. United is placed at 3rd position in Australian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. United will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. In the team's last game Ware had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be United's top player in his first season with the team. Long Beach State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ware is in league's top in points (8th best: 16.3ppg), assists (2nd best: 5.3apg) and averages solid 40.4% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Rotnei Clarke (183-PG-89) of Hawks. He is American guard in his first season at Hawks. In the last game Clarke recorded impressive 29 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course Hawks cruised to a 93-83 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Kings (#8, 2-6). This victory allowed Hawks to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Clarke is a newcomer at Hawks and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.4ppg (#1).

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Mitch Creek (195-F/G-92) of 36ers (#4). Creek scored 24 points. Despite Creek's great performance 36ers lost 88-92 to #1 ranked Breakers. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing 36ers needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 4 victories and 4 lost games. Creek has a very solid season. In 8 games in Australia he scored 15.6ppg. He also has 5.4rpg and FGP: 71.4%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nick Kay (206-C/F-92) of Hawks - 19 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Demitrius Conger (196-F-90) of Hawks - 18 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Perry Ellis (203-F-93) of Kings - 19 points and 7 rebounds
7. Andrew James Ogilvy (211-C-88) of Hawks - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Casey Prather (198-F/G-91) of United - 25 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Daniel Johnson (210-C/F-88) of 36ers - 23 points and 8 rebounds
10. Perrin Buford (198-G/F-94) of Bullets - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
