Regular Season Round 3: Adelaide - NZL Breakers 88-78

There was no surprise in Findon where New Zealand Breakers (0-4) were defeated by Adelaide 36ers (7-4) 88-78 on Wednesday. Adelaide 36ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Joshua Giddey (203-2) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international center Isaac Humphries (216-98, college: Kentucky) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was New Zealand guard Tai Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska) who recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and New Zealand forward Finn Delany (198-95, college: SW Baptist) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Adelaide 36ers and four New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. New Zealand Breakers' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Adelaide 36ers will face Kings (#7) in Sydney in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. New Zealand Breakers will play on the road against Cairns Taipans and hope to get finally their first victory.
