No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Kings (5-5) beat bottom-ranked New Zealand Breakers (1-6) in Sydney 96-78 on Thursday. Kings made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game, while New Zealand Breakers only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded New Zealand Breakers 41-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Naturalized Canadian guard Dejan Vasiljevic (190-97, college: Miami, FL) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and American point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: LBSU) accounted for 19 points and 6 assists. Four Kings players scored in double figures. Kings' coach Adam Forde used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. New Zealand guard Tai Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska) came up with 18 points and 5 assists and New Zealand guard Corey Webster (188-88, college: Lambuth) added 24 points respectively for New Zealand Breakers in the defeat. Kings moved-up to fifth place, which they share with SE Melbourne. New Zealand Breakers lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Kings will meet league's leader United in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. New Zealand Breakers will play against Adelaide 36ers (#3) in Findon and hope to win that game.
