The most surprising game was a loss of Steelers in Western Port on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Thunder 68-58. Thunder forced 20 Steelers turnovers and outrebounded them 53-42 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Luke Sist had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 28 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Matt Spencer chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Thunder's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Matthew Turner (210-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized British guard Daryl Corletto (193-81) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Thunder is looking forward to face Magic in Hawthorn in the next round. Steelers will play on the road against Devils in Werribee and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
