Regular Season Round 2: Casey C. - Hawthorn M. 87-67
Date: March 20, 2021
Very expected game in Cranbourne where Magic was crushed by Cavaliers 87-67. American point guard Anthony Williams (178-95, college: Clark Atlanta) notched 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and naturalized British swingman Matthew Donlan (200-93, college: YSU) supported him with 16 points. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Cavaliers players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by Joe Furphy did not help to save the game for Magic. Point guard Kirk Smith (178) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cavaliers will play against Cougars in McKinnon in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Magic will play on the road against Thunder in Melbourne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
