Everything could happen in Perth at the game between two tied teams. Both leader Redbacks and bottom-ranked Senators had identical 0-0 record. But Senators were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Northbridge 95-78 on Friday night. Redbacks dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Senators' 36. They outrebounded Senators 53-35 including a 40-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Makailah Dyer (175, college: N.Dakota) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and forward Maddison Allen (190-93, college: Santa Clara) chipped in 11 points, 17 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. Guard Stacey Barr (173-92, college: Idaho) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Mackenzie Clinch-Hoycard (190-98, college: Hawaii) scored 21 points. Five Redbacks and four Senators players scored in double figures. Senators' coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Redbacks (1-0) left bottom position moving up to fourth place in League. Loser Senators still closes the standings with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
