Regular Season Round 5: Norths Bears - Bankstown B. 71-68

Very expected game in Crows Nest where bottom-ranked Bruins (0-2) were edged by leader North Bears (2-0) 71-68 on Sunday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. North Bears forced 22 Bruins turnovers. Austrian center Sarah Schicher (187-90, college: Dowling) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Kate Seebohm (170-91, college: California, PA) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four North Bears players scored in double figures. Guard Tahlia Tupaea (174-97) responded with 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Dijana Milisic (188, college: UNCG) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Bruins' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. North Bears moved-up to second place in League. Loser Bruins still closes the standings with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
