First defeat of league's leader Diamond Valley Eagles (2-1) against top-ranked Waverley Falcons (2-0) 79-72 was the most important game of the last round. Strangely Diamond Valley Eagles outrebounded Waverley Falcons 44-26 including 33 on the defensive glass. Naturalized American swingman Bennie Lewis (203-87, college: Benedict) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Jake Heath (185, college: SD Mines) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Lewis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Waverley Falcons players scored in double figures. Kenyan power forward Desmond OWili (203-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Sudanese forward Ngor Manyang (200-93) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Diamond Valley Eagles. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Waverley Falcons moved-up to third place in League. Diamond Valley Eagles at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Geelong S.. Diamond Valley Eagles will play next round against Tigers trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Waverley Falcons will try to continue on its current victory against fifteenth ranked Bandits in Albury.
