Regular Season Round 10: Geelong S. - Nunawading S. 66-65

Important game to mention about took place in Geelong. First ranked Geelong Supercats (4-1) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 10th ranked Spectres (3-2) 66-65 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Strangely Spectres outrebounded Geelong Supercats 42-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American Isaac Turner (191-92, college: St.Vincent) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Point guard Jack MacDonald (183-97, college: Alaska-Anch.) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American center Dain Swetalla (206-86, college: Augustana, IL) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds and Daniel Baxter added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Spectres. Despite that victory Geelong Supercats went down to fifth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Spectres dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. Geelong Supercats will face Tigers (#16) in Melbourne in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Spectres will play on the road against Kilsyth Cobras (#11) and hope to win that game.
