There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Lions (0-6) were outleveled by sixth ranked Rockets (3-3) in Adelaide 92-55 on Saturday. Rockets forced 21 Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 55-25 including a 24-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for guard Taylor Ortlepp (178-97, college: Boston Coll.) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. Samantha Defrancesco contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Rockets players scored in double figures. April Lamb replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Meaza Otto added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lions. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rockets moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Lions still closes the standings with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
