Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Hume City Broncos (4-3) rolled over 9th ranked Vikings (1-5) in Melbourne 112-76 on Saturday. Hume City Broncos dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Vikings' 36. Hume City Broncos forced 26 Vikings turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for forward Joel Rimes (196) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Shayan Mahboobi contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Five Hume City Broncos players scored in double figures. Forward Mark Berezdecky (197-93) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and guard Bul Niop (196, college: Dyersburg St.) added 18 points in the effort for Vikings. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hume City Broncos maintains fifth position in League with 4-3 record. Loser Vikings keep the ninth place with five games lost. Hume City Broncos will face Magic (#8) in Hawthorn in the next round.
