No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Bendigo Braves (5-3) beat at home 14th ranked Eltham Wildcats (2-5) 92-78 on Saturday. Bendigo Braves made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game, while Eltham Wildcats only scored seven points from the stripe. Bendigo Braves had a 38-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Bendigo Braves especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Eltham Wildcats were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Nelson Larkins (180-96) contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Bendigo Braves players scored in double figures. Point guard Adam Doyle (176-91) answered with 32 points and forward Ovie Magbegor (196, college: UWG) added 8 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Eltham Wildcats. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bendigo Braves maintains sixth place in League with 5-3 record.
