Everything went according to plan when first ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (6-1) outplayed 12th ranked Knox Raiders (2-3) in Mt Gambier 118-93 on Saturday. Mount Gambier Pioneers outrebounded Knox Raiders 51-25 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Knox Raiders' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mount Gambier Pioneers made 7 blocks. The former international guard Tom Daly (182-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Tom Kubank (201, college: Mary) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Dylan Hare (193-93) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Jack Roberts-Field added 18 points in the effort for Knox Raiders. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
