Everything went according to plan in Gold Coast where top-ranked Rollers (2-0) outscored 14th ranked Cairns Marlins (1-2) 97-68 on Friday. Rollers had a 35-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Cairns Marlins' players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Callum Dalton (207-0) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and forward Cameron Goldfinch (201, college: Newman) who added 14 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Rollers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman James Mitchell (194-91) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Deba George (183-85) scored 13 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rollers moved-up to second place in League. Loser Cairns Marlins dropped to the tenth position with two games lost. Rollers will have a break next round. Cairns Marlins will play at home against Townsville Heat (#4) and hope to win that game.
