Not a big story in a game in Heathmont where 17th ranked Bandits (1-7) were rolled over by tenth ranked Ringwood Hawks (4-2) 96-76 on Saturday. Ringwood Hawks had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American guard CJ Asuncion-Byrd (194-96, college: LeMoyne) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Matthew Fennell (196) who added 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Ringwood Hawks' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Sharif Watson (198-93, college: ACU) with 22 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and New Zealand swingman Mitchell Dance (192-1) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ringwood Hawks maintains tenth position in League with 4-2 record. Loser Bandits keep the seventeenth place with seven games lost. Ringwood Hawks will face Kilsyth Cobras (#11) on the road in the next round. Bandits will play against Geelong Supercats (#6) and hope to win that game.
