Everything could happen in Taigum at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Capitals and their close opponent Wizards had identical 1-2 record. But Wizards were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Brisbane 78-74 on Saturday night. Capitals dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Wizards' 30. Capitals forced 20 Wizards turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international center Meg Essex (190-96) who led her team to a victory scoring 26 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Courtney Woods (183, college: NIU) with 25 points and 9 rebounds and Regan McCarty (-97) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Capitals (2-2) moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Wizards dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Capitals will have a break next round. Wizards will play on the road against the league's leader Thunder (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
