There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Ipswich Force (0-4) was outleveled by eighth ranked Townsville Heat (3-2) in Booval 92-73 on Saturday. Townsville Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Ipswich Force's players. Guard Josh Spiers (201-96, college: CSUSM) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Guard Ethan Betts (188, college: Umpqua CC) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Townsville Heat players scored in double figures. Townsville Heat's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Manylok Malek (205-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Jason Ralph (178-95, college: VCSU) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Ipswich Force. Townsville Heat moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Ipswich Force still closes the standings with four games lost. Townsville Heat will face Brisbane Spartans (#7) at home in the next round.
