The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Brisbane Spartans' (3-3) home victory over 8th ranked Northside Wizards (2-3) 91-67 on Sunday. Brisbane Spartans forced 25 Northside Wizards turnovers and outrebounded them 54-35 including a 25-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Brisbane Spartans looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for guard Noah Thomas (188, college: Drake) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. Forward Josh Derksen (206-95, college: KWC) helped adding 19 points. The best for the losing side was Cameron Thew with 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Aiden Krause (193-0, college: UC Irvine) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Brisbane Spartans went down to eighth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Northside Wizards dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. Brisbane Spartans will face again Northside Wizards (#10) in Taigum in the next round.
