Everything went according to plan when third ranked Brisbane Capitals (6-3) outscored on the road 12th ranked Roar (1-5) 97-68 on Saturday. Brisbane Capitals dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Roar's 34. They outrebounded Roar 63-32 including a 46-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brisbane Capitals looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Center Ben Volkman (206, college: Maryville, MO) fired 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized New Zealand swingman Zac Carter (203-89) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds. Five Brisbane Capitals players scored in double figures. Point guard Kobe McDowell-White (183-4) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and forward Kian Dennis (197-1) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Roar's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Brisbane Capitals maintains third position in League with 6-3 record having seven points less than leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Roar dropped to the thirteenth place with five games lost. Brisbane Capitals will meet at home Rockets (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Roar will play against Ipswich Force in Booval and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
