No shocking result in a game when second ranked Mackay Meteors (6-2) won against at home 13th ranked South West Metro Pirates (2-6) 103-92 on Saturday. Mackay Meteors looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international center Harrison Froling (211-98, college: Marquette) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Naturalized South Sudanese center Emmanuel Malou (206-93, college: Iowa St., agency: BIG) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. The former international swingman Mitch Creek (196-92) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 19 rebounds and the former international point guard Kai Woodfall (183, college: MBU) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mackay Meteors maintains second position in League with 6-2 record having 4 victories less than leader Perry Lakes H. Loser South West Metro Pirates dropped to the twelfth place with six games lost. Mackay Meteors will meet Rip City (#4) in the next round. South West Metro Pirates will play against Northside Wizards (#9) and hope to secure a win.
