Very predictable result in Brisbane where sixth ranked Capitals (5-4) outscored bottom-ranked Cyclones (0-10) 84-58 on Saturday. Capitals dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Cyclones' 28. They outrebounded Cyclones 50-36 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Capitals looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. New Zealand guard Brooke Blair (173-94, college: Idaho St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and New Zealand forward Anna Cameron (178, college: Nevada) chipped in 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Capitals players scored in double figures. Capitals' coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was center Lara McSpadden (193-99) with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Annaliese Watkinson (175, college: Mt.St.Mary's) scored 12 points. Capitals maintains sixth place in League with 5-4 record. Loser Cyclones still closes the standings with ten games lost.
