There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Eastern Mavericks (0-11) were outleveled by sixth ranked South Adelaide Panthers (6-6) in Park Holme 109-84 on Saturday. South Adelaide Panthers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Eastern Mavericks' players. Guard Alexander Mudronja (196-99, college: St.Mary's, CA) nailed 23 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Todd Davies accounted for 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. South Adelaide Panthers' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward William Wise (206-92, college: Dominican, NY) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and Tom Cromarty added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Eastern Mavericks in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. South Adelaide Panthers moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Eastern Mavericks still closes the standings with 11 games lost. South Adelaide Panthers will meet Mount Gambier Pioneers (#6) in the next round. Eastern Mavericks will play against the league's leader Sturt Sabres (#1) and hope to get finally their first victory.
