Rather expected game in Melbourne where 9th ranked Vikings (1-9) were crushed by seventh ranked Gulls (4-6) 103-79 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American Corey Standerfer (201-88, college: York, NE) who scored 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Nathan Frost (203, college: Central CC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Gulls players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Jah Soloai who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and guard Bul Niop (196, college: Dyersburg St.) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Vikings' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Gulls maintains seventh position in League with 4-6 record. Loser Vikings dropped to the tenth place with nine games lost. Gulls will meet Magic (#8) in the next round. Vikings will play against Steelers in Western Port and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
