An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Southland. Third ranked Hawks faced their biggest opponent Sharks. Guests from Tamatea (11-5) smashed host Sharks (11-5) 97-71. Hawks players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Jordan Hunt (205-97, college: S.Oregon) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American guard Devondrick Walker (196-92, college: A&M-Commerce) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. Dominique Kelman-Poto (201-94, college: Adelphi) replied with 27 points and American forward Josh Cunningham (203-96, college: Dayton) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Sharks. Sharks' coach Rob Beveridge gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Hawks moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Sharks. Hawks will play against bottom-ranked Mountain Airs (#10) in New Plymouth in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sharks will play at home against Nuggets (#5) and hope to get back on the winning track.
