Rather predictable result when fifteenth ranked Lady Bandits (4-10) won against 18th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (2-11) in Albury 71-54 on Friday. Lady Bandits outrebounded Diamond Valley Eagles 46-28 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Emma Mahady (179-92, college: California, PA) notched 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and center Amelia Hassett (189-4) supported her with 8 points and 17 rebounds. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by power forward Sophie Burrows (184-4) did not help to save the game for Diamond Valley Eagles. Forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-93) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lady Bandits moved-up to thirteenth place in League. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the seventeenth position with 11 games lost. Lady Bandits will meet Ballarat Rush (#14) in the next round. Diamond Valley Eagles will play against Lady Cobras in Kilsyth and hope to secure a win.
