Regular Season Round 19: USC Rip - Logan T. 55-78
Date: July 9, 2021
Everything went according to plan in Sippy Downs where first ranked Thunder (9-1) outleveled 5th ranked Rip City (5-4) 78-55 on Friday. Thunder forced 20 Rip City turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Jeremy Kendle (186-88, college: Bellarmine) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Mitch Young (206-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Joshua Tueta (202-89, college: MSU-Northern) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Tanner Krebs (198-96, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Thunder maintains first place in League with 9-1 record. Loser Rip City keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Thunder will meet league's second-placed Mackay Meteors on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rip City will play against Brisbane Capitals and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
