NBL top team - Saints (14-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Jets (4-12) in Palmerston North 103-80. Saints outrebounded Jets 38-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Jets' players. American guard Kerwin Roach II (193-96, college: Texas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international forward Tohi Smith-Milner (206-95, college: Polk State CC) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Saints players scored in double figures. American guard Daishon Knight (185-91, college: Illinois St.) answered with 30 points and 7 rebounds and guard Jayden Bezzant (188-96, college: NW Nazarene) added 25 points in the effort for Jets. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Saints have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Jets at the other side keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. Saints are looking forward to face Huskies (#4) in Auckland in the next round. Jets will play at home against Giants (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
