The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Frankston Blues (11-3) in Greensborough on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by eighteenth ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (2-11) 79-73. Diamond Valley Eagles forced 21 Frankston Blues turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Frankston Blues helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points. Imogen Rock contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Diamond Valley Eagles players scored in double figures. The former international forward Darcee Garbin (187-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and guard Taylah Giliam (173-99) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Frankston Blues. Diamond Valley Eagles moved-up to seventeenth place in League. Frankston Blues at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. Diamond Valley Eagles are looking forward to face higher ranked Lady Cobras (#9) in Kilsyth in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Frankston Blues will play on the road against the league's second-placed Knox Raiders (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
