A very close game took place in Gold Coast between Rollers and Pirates. Eighth ranked Rollers (4-4) got a very close home victory over 7th ranked Pirates (4-6). Rollers managed to escape with a 3-point win 61-58 on Saturday evening. Guard Aimee Durbidge (180, college: N.Idaho JC) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Casey Samuels (182-94) supported her with 21 points and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds by Amanda Johnson did not help to save the game for Pirates. Susan McHugh added 11 points for the guests. Pirates' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rollers moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Pirates dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Rollers will meet Force (#10) in the next round. Pirates will play against Roar and hope to secure a win.
