Regular Season Round 19: Diamond V.E. - Frankston B. 86-111

Very expected game in Greensborough where 9th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (6-7) were rolled over by first ranked Frankston Blues (11-4) 111-86 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American forward Dillon Stith (201-92, college: St.Vincent) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Dan Trist (206-92, college: Lafayette) helped adding 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Frankston Blues' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Robert Heath responded with 22 points and 4 assists and Mark Scherf scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Frankston Blues went down to third position (League) due to points difference. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the tenth place with seven games lost. Frankston Blues will meet at home Sabres (#18) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Diamond Valley Eagles will play against Knox Raiders (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
