There was an upset when higher ranked Meteorettes (8-3) were edged by eleventh ranked Wizards (3-6) in Taigum 88-87 on Sunday. Swingman Courtney Woods (183, college: NIU) notched 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and point guard Tiana Mangakahia (168-95, college: Syracuse) supported her with 20 points and 6 assists. Four Wizards players scored in double figures. Wizards' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 25 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists by forward Chelsea Brook (188-98) did not help to save the game for Meteorettes. Swingman Mikaela Dombkins (181-86) added 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Wizards maintains eleventh position in League with 3-6 record. Loser Meteorettes keep the third place with three games lost. Wizards will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Meteorettes will play against the league's leader Thunder and will have a slim chance for a victory.
