Regular Season Round 19: Perry Lakes H. - Geraldton B. 118-67
Date: July 11, 2021
Very predictable result in Floreat where first ranked Hawks (12-2) outscored 12th ranked Buccaneers (3-10) 118-67 on Sunday. Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Buccaneers' 26. Hawks forced 23 Buccaneers turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Hawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Buccaneers' players. It was a great evening for center Andrew Ferguson (213-98, college: CS Monterey) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Matthew Leary (190-0, college: Knox) helped adding 26 points. Five Hawks players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized South Sudanese swingman Mathiang Muo (196-87, college: Charleston So.) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Dylan Myers (192-97) scored 6 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hawks maintains first place in League with 12-2 record. Loser Buccaneers keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Hawks will meet at home Slammers (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Buccaneers will play against Senators in Perth and hope to secure a win.
