There was a minor upset in Bullcreek where 9th ranked Lightning (4-7) was defeated by eleventh ranked Hawks (5-7) 89-72 on Friday. Hawks made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Lightning turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Lightning's players. The best player for the winners was forward Megan McKay (190-97, college: St.Mary's, CA) who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Mia Satie (178-98, college: Pepperdine) chipped in 19 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Ashleigh Isenbarger (187-97) who recorded 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and forward Kyrah Daniels (180-4) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser Lightning keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Hawks will meet league's leader Wanneroo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lightning will play against the league's leader Wanneroo (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
