We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Townsville where 4th placed Flames (7-3) were defeated by fifth ranked Sunshine CP (8-4) 65-56 on Friday. Sunshine CP outrebounded Flames 39-28 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international Kathleen Macleod (167-86) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Swingman Amy Browne (178-90) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mia Murray (184-88) who recorded 23 points and 6 rebounds and New Zealand guard Micaela Cocks (174-86, college: Oregon) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Sunshine CP moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Flames dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Sunshine CP will meet at home Rip City (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Flames will play against Capitals (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
