No shocking result in a game in Brisbane where sixth ranked Capitals (7-5) won against 8th ranked Rip City (4-6) 87-76 on Saturday. Capitals forced 20 Rip City turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was New Zealand guard Brooke Blair (173-94, college: Idaho St.) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Stephanie Collins (196-95, college: SMU) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Capitals players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Carlie Smith who recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and forward Alex Delaney (183-95, college: SFC) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Capitals maintains sixth place in League with 7-5 record. Loser Rip City dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Capitals will meet higher ranked Flames (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
