The game between closely ranked teams ended with twelfth ranked Roar's (3-6) road victory over 13th ranked South West Metro Pirates (2-8) in Runcorn 113-109 on Saturday. Roar forced 20 South West Metro Pirates turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by guard William McDowell-White (196-98, college: Fresno St.) who scored that evening 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Kobe McDowell-White (183-4) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Even 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Brendan Teys (188-90) did not help to save the game for South West Metro Pirates. The former international point guard Kai Woodfall (183, college: MBU) added 24 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Five Roar and four South West Metro Pirates players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Roar maintains twelfth position in League with 3-6 record. Loser South West Metro Pirates keep the thirteenth place with eight games lost. Roar will meet higher ranked Northside Wizards (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. South West Metro Pirates will play against Bendigo Braves (#8) and hope to secure a win.
